Trail Ride with Whistlejacket
Looking for a peaceful escape into nature or a fun outdoor adventure with friends and family? Our guided trail rides at Whistlejacket Farm are the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the countryside from the back of a horse.
Each ride lasts approximately one hour and takes place on our scenic private property in Alvarado, Texas. Whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced rider, our gentle, well-trained horses and friendly staff will make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and safe every step of the way.
Trail rides are $75 per person and require a minimum of 2 riders and a maximum of 5 per group. It’s a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, try something new, or just enjoy some fresh air and quality time in the saddle.
What to Expect During a Trail Ride
Each Trail Ride at Whistlejacket Farm is one to two hours and designed to give you a full, hands-onexperience. We begin by learning how to groom and saddle the horse—an important part ofbuilding trust and confidence—before heading into the arena to get to know your partner for theduration of the trail ride. Our experienced riding Instructor will give a quick lesson to each rider,where you will then head straight to the trail to begin your experience.
On these trails you will ride over creeks, through trees and open fields. Be prepared to navigateyour horse on your own as these horses will not follow each other a single file. There will be severalopportunities to get single, or group photos taken while riding. If you would like additional photostaken, you’re welcome to use your phone on the ride or request them from your guide.
All riders are able to bring their own drinks on the ride, those over the age of 21 may bring alcoholic beverages, however any intoxicated riders will not be allowed to ride.
Riders should come dressed in jeans or leggings, closed toe shoes (preferably boots), and bring aproperly fitting helmet if they wish for one. We will not be able to provide riders with helmets or riding boots. Additionally, all riders must sign a waiver before we hit the trails.
